Case Study Animation to Show the Impact of Deeto

Goal of the project: Quickly deliver a short video showcasing new product capabilities, in response to a request from a high-priority prospect.

A high-priority prospect asked Deeto:

“Can you share a short (<1 minute) video we can show leadership that explains the value Deeto brings?”

The catch? The video didn’t exist yet.

At the time, Deeto was in the midst of a full rebrand. A new website had recently been launched, the brand had a totally new look and feel, and the product was getting ready to be released with several new features. It was an all-hands-on-deck moment—we needed to move fast and deliver a clear, compelling story within 24 hours.

To streamline the process, I took an unconventional approach: I built a storyboard in Google Slides. This allowed the client to live-edit the on-screen text and messaging, helping us move quickly and stay aligned.

Bringing the Animation to Life

Once the storyboard was approved, I jumped into production. I gathered visual assets from multiple sources—Figma files, Illustrator artboards—and exported them as individual layers to prep for animation in After Effects.

To speed up the process, I used the Mr. Horse Animation Composer plugin, which let me build smooth transitions without spending time manually keyframing each element. After assembling the full video and completing about 90% of the animation, I brought in a trusted motion designer I’ve collaborated with in the past.

By splitting the work, we both played to our strengths:

  • I knew the content and how each piece should move based on the storyboard.

  • He brought over 10 years of animation experience to finesse the pacing and transitions for a more polished, professional finish.
